Who's Bobby?
Well, this is going to take a little explaining...
John & Mike play hockey on Friday nights, in fact, they played hockey together for several years before learning of each others musical abilities and passion for classic rock. Eventually, they hooked up
to jam and then found Matt who lived just down the street from John - but that's another story. Back to Friday Night Hockey League (FNHL)...this dude shows up and starts playing with us who is well built, strong,
a good skater, decent skills, and a rocket of a shot. However, he's kind of a show-off and a bit of a puck hog, not to mention that he's quite the "ladies man". Nobody knew his name and Ned just started referring
to him as "Bobby Big Wheel" - a moniker taken from the Junior Hockey Bible (definition).
The name stuck and we just all called him "Bobby" from then on because nobody knew what his real name was. Then one night, a couple years later, we were at the Fox & Hound after FNHL
when the dude finally asked John, "Why do you guys all call me Bobby? My name is Mike..." ROFLMAO!!!
Fast forward to the fall of 2006. The band had jammed a few times and whipped up about 25-30 songs and Ringo (another FNHL'er) asked us to come setup in his new 3-bay x 2-deep garage for a party. Again, sitting at the F&H after FNH (see a pattern here?) we figured, hey, we need a name for the band for Ringo's party. After kicking around a few names and throwing back a few Harp's Tommy blurted out, "What about Bobby & The Big Wheels?" and the rest is history.
